Every piece of code has a first line. In October, the students of PeerStack Academy’s new cohort wrote theirs. For some, it was the start of a decision they’d put off for months. For others, it was the first step toward an IT career they’d dreamed about for years.

This group has 50+ people, and each has their own story. Some are at university and want real skills before graduation. Some come from another field and are ready to rebuild their careers. Some simply said “I can do this too” and took the risk. The stories differ, but the goal is shared: to learn coding through practice and join a team as a developer.

There are many IT courses in Baku, and choosing among programming courses isn’t easy. What sets this group apart is how they got into the classroom. Candidates were chosen not by grades or a diploma alone, but by their motivation and goals. Coding can be taught, but the desire to learn can’t. The scholarship is for those who show that desire.

In the October cohort, those who want to become frontend developers learn interfaces, backend developers learn the logic behind the system, and fullstack developers learn both together. The SWE — Go, Rust track goes deeper into systems programming. Every program ends with a portfolio project, and a mentor is there when students get stuck.

This is only the beginning at PeerStack Academy. In the coming months, we’ll share which projects these students are building and which challenges they’re working through.

Classes are held in four tracks this term:

Frontend: building the interfaces users see and touch
Backend: the server, logic and database behind the system
Fullstack: creating a complete product that handles both front and back
SWE — Go, Rust: deeper systems programming and performance-oriented solutions
Each program focuses on practical skills and portfolio projects.

If you missed the October cohort, you can prepare for the next intake. Think about your goal and motivation, because that is what the scholarship is awarded for. For registration and terms:https://peerstack.tech/en/apply

Every website you visit today and every app you use on your phone hides a massive world of programming behind it. But who designs the look, the colors, the buttons, and the overall user experience of these sites? Of course, Front End developers—just like you or who you aspire to be.

If you want to step into the world of technology, work for global companies, or earn an income as a freelancer, choosing the right front end course is the first and most crucial step on this journey.

Why Front End?
If you are new to programming, the Front End field is the most visual and rewarding path where you can see the results of your work instantly. Every line of code you write comes to life right on the screen. By learning this field, you will:

Create the "face" of digital products.

Master fundamentals like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Become a highly demanded specialist in the global market.

What Should You Look For When Choosing the Right Front End Course?
There are plenty of options out there, but to make sure you spend your time and budget wisely, you should keep these 3 golden rules in mind when choosing a course:

1. Practical Assignments and Real Projects (Portfolio)
Lessons consisting purely of theory won't make you a developer. A good front end course should not just teach you how to write code, but also help you build a solid portfolio of real-world projects by the end of the program. Employers don't look at your diploma; they look at what you can actually do (your GitHub profile).

2. Up-to-Date Technologies
Technology changes rapidly. The program you choose shouldn't stop at just HTML and CSS. A course that meets modern industry standards must include popular JavaScript frameworks like React.js or Vue.js.

3. Mentor Support and Networking
When you try to learn everything on your own online, you might lose motivation whenever you get stuck. Having professional mentors whom you can ask questions and who can guide you speeds up the learning process threefold.
